Students Study Latin American Art

Students in the Latin American Art, Music, and Dance course recently were assigned a project choose a Latin American artist and represent that artist’s work in some way. One group chose to produce a video about Ecuadorian artist Ramon Piaguaje.

Spanish Mural Project

Students in Jen Sobel’s Spanish IV class recently completed their mural project. The activity asks groups of students to create a mural relating to current events. They must then develop a presentation in Spanish to explain their art to others. This year’s murals are posted below. (Click photos for larger images.)

Reenacting Spanish Art

Students in Jen Sobel’s elective “Spanish V: Art, Music, and Dance” don’t just learn the language, they learn the Spanish culture as well. Spanish for Native Speakers

Beaver’s modern language department offers a unique class titled Spanish for Native Speakers. This course offers Spanish-speaking students the opportunity to study Spanish formally in an academic setting in the same way that native English-speaking students study English language arts.
