About the mashUp

New for the 2009-2010 school year, BCDS mashUp showcases work by Beaver Country Day School students and faculty.

What exactly is a mashup? According to Wikipedia:

a mashup is a web page or application that combines data or functionality from two or more external sources to create a new service.

Our “external sources” are BCDS students’ video, photos, and writing. We’ll be collecting them all (mashing them up) on this site. You may see videos from a theater class, blog posts from an English class, or photos from an art class.

In addition to what you see here, clicking BCDS Live Stream above takes you to a timeline of online activity for BCDS. This includes Facebook and Twitter updates, BCDS web site news stories, Flickr additions, and YouTube uploads. It’s a great way to quickly see what’s been going on at Beaver.

Check back often for new content. Or, better yet, click the Subscribe button at the top of this page to add the BCDS mashUp’s feed to your RSS reader (Google Reader, myYahoo, Netvibes, etc).
